PIA to Resume Flights to Swat Saidu Sharif Airport After 17 Years
SWAT NEWS: Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has decided to operate ATR flights to Saidu Sharif Airport (Swat) from Islamabad from March 26. The PIA has informed the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that it had planned to resume flight operations from Lahore and Islamabad to Saidu Sharif Airport from March 26. The national flag carrier will initially operate two weekly flights. The first flight will depart for Saidu Sharif from Islamabad on March 26.
Another COVID Lockdown Enforced in Swat
SWAT NEWS: (March 2021) The government officials in Swat have imposed another COVID lockdown in the valley. According to the local sources, on the instructions of the provincial government and Deputy Commissioner Swat, the district administration officers visited various schools in schools, BHUs, mega marts, shops, plazas, wedding halls, and various markets. The local administrators and government officials urge the residents to adhere to the code of conduct and precautionary SOPs issued by the government on coronavirus.
Tourism-dependent businesses and activities will likely feel the negative impacts of the crisis for much longer than other economies. Contact-intensive services key to the tourism and travel sectors are disproportionately affected by the pandemic and will continue to struggle until people feel safe to travel en masse again.
Malam Jabba Ski Resort in collaboration with a leading hotel group organized the 2nd Swat Marathon
SWAT NEWS: (March 2021) Malam Jabba Ski Resort in collaboration with a leading hotel group organized the 2nd Swat Marathon in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s Swat district. Overwhelming participation was seen by all age groups, children under 10 years till 16, women and men. The total number of participants was 127, including children and women. Last year more than 200 athletes participated in the event and bagged gifts and trophies.
Swat News: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Authority Assistant Director Murad Ali Khan and District Food Controller Swat Jawad Ali along with their team jointly inspected food items in different bazaars in Mingora. The raid was taken to check and ensure the official prices of food items during the holy month of Ramadan in Swat. (Swat News)
SWAT NEWS: The District Police Officer of Swat Police Qasim Ali Khan inaugurated a crime meeting in the office. At the meeting, all the SDPOs and SHOs, including SP Upper Swat Farman Khan, Additional SP Lower Swat Shah Hassan Khan were present.
